What We Believe About God the Father
God the Father is the sovereign Creator and righteous Ruler of the universe. The mission of God does not stand on the strength, strategy, or consistency of His people. It is sustained by the strength of His character. Apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Everything we are and everything we do rests on who He is.

God the Father Is Sovereign and Worthy of Trust
God’s sovereignty means He reigns over all creation with unchallenged authority.“The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all” (Psalm 103:19).
God rules, but He does not coerce. His sovereignty does not erase human responsibility. Scripture makes clear that people make real choices, and those choices carry real consequences. “A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps” (Proverbs 16:9).
God’s authority does not mean He manipulates every action. He oversees without controlling, governs without violating the will He Himself gave. This is why Scripture can truthfully say that God desires all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), while still acknowledging that many refuse Him.
Because God is sovereign, He is trustworthy. Nothing happens outside His rule, and nothing escapes His redemptive reach. Even opposition, suffering, and sin are never stronger than His purposes.
God the Father Rules With Perfect Goodness
God does not become good through favorable outcomes. He is good by nature.“You are good, and You do what is good” (Psalm 119:68).
His goodness is not measured by circumstances. It is revealed through His unchanging character and His faithful work throughout history. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17).
Believers do not judge God’s goodness by a season of life. They interpret every season through who God has already proven Himself to be. “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8). His will is always rooted in love, wisdom, and righteousness, even when His ways are difficult to understand.
God the Father Actively Cares for His Children
God is not a distant ruler. He is a present Father.
Jesus teaches that entering God’s kingdom requires childlike dependence (Mark 10:15). That dependence does not fade with maturity. Believers never outgrow their need for God’s care, guidance, and provision.
God actively watches over His children. He bears their burdens. “Cast all your cares on Him, because He cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7). Day after day, He sustains His people (Psalm 68:19).
This care does not mean a life without hardship, but it does mean a life never abandoned. God remains involved, attentive, and faithful. His children are not left to navigate a broken world alone.
What This Means for a Life on Mission
God calls His people to obedience, not outcome-control. He commands faithfulness and promises to handle the results.
Scripture is clear: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth” (1 Corinthians 3:6). Growth, fruit, and impact belong to God alone. The role of believers is to go, love, speak, pray, and disciple.
Faithfulness is required; fruitfulness is God’s work. “It is required of stewards that they be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2).
Truth bomb
We are responsible to go and make disciples, but we were never asked to hold the outcome hostage.
Shoe-leather application
Faithfulness is our calling. Fruitfulness belongs to God.
